Thunderbirds

Gerry Anderson's most famous series (and his personal favourite) was produced in 1965/6 and was followed by two feature films. Every story was filled with exciting action adventure, cool vehicles and craft, appealing heroes and a gorgeous heroine for the girls.  Oh, and lots of explosions and disasters to keep anyone glued to the screen for an hour.  .

Model information

In the 1960s, as a child I had all the plastic toys (Thunderbirds 1, 2 and 3), as well as Dinky Thunderbird 2 and FAB1.  They were all played with to death and met ultimate doom in the dustbin when finally wrecked/dropped to bits. In the early 1970s I bought replacement Dinky Thunderbird 2 and FAB1 just before we went to Germany, and although I still have them, their condition has deteriorated over the years.  In the 1990s when BBC2 repeated the series and rekindled the toy phenomenon, I bought the new Corgi versions; and in more recent years acquired the brilliant Konami FAB1 and Fireflash which feature here..
