Gerry Anderson's first series filmed in colour was made in 1964 when British television viewers could only watch in black and white, but was made in colour to ensure sales to America. The half hour episodes were filled with action, suspense and brilliant model work which rapidly became the hallmark of Gerry Anderson's exciting shows.
The die-cast model of Stingray that I usually use was produced by Product Enterprise in the early 2000s. The smaller version and the Terrorfish were released by Matchbox in the early 1990s when the series was repeated on the BBC. For all my water shots, I built an ocean diorama using layers of loo roll soaked in a mix of water and pva glue. The water/glue puckers the loo roll to look like waves. When dry, it has a coat of blue acrylic paint and 4 layers of clear water-based varnish. You can see my ocean/water diorama also used in my UFO and Space 1999 work.
