In 1998 I decided to bring my model train buildings which had been stored in boxes for over 25 years out to create a layout in my loft. In built the layout in two phases. However, my layout is not so much a model train layout, but more a British landscape diorama through which trains happen to pass. The first phase involved a model castle I built from polystyrene packaging. In 2000 I built an extension to the layout where I wanted to create a town and valley with a viaduct, and a lake. My sons at the time were heavily into playing with model cars, and so insisted that I incorporated roads and a motorway into the 22ft x 9ft layout. These photos were taken circa 2000 on less sophisticated camera equipment than we have today.
